Welder
Alberta Council of Turnaround Industry Maintenance Stakeholders is hiring a welder to carry out various roles listed in the job description. Oil sands owners, heavy industrial maintenance contractors, and labor providers make up the Alberta Council of Turnaround Industry Maintenance Stakeholders (ACTIMS). The goal of ACTIMS is to ensure that the turnarounds and ongoing maintenance projects of the owner stakeholder are fully staffed with skilled, qualified, experienced, and professional tradespeople. Our tripartite Board of Directors is comprised of an equal number of senior executives from stakeholder owners, contractors, and labor provider organizations.
Full job description
The candidate chosen is responsible for:
- Cutting of equipment using oxygen
- Operating welding machine to fabricate or repair metal parts
- Training of apprentices
- Assembling of components using machine and hand tools
- Analyzing the length of the welding arc throughout the welding process
- Performing all metal cleaning and grinding
- Ensuring that equipment is kept safe
- Preventing equipment from damage
- Monitoring proper usage and maintenance of the machine
- Adhering strictly to safety rules and regulations
- Interpreting the welding process
- Aligning all components of machine parts

Experience required
The chosen candidate should have a minimum of high school certificate
- 3-5years working experience in related industry
- Work Place Hazardous Material Information System (WHIS) Certificate
- Pressure Welding Certificate
- Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
