University of the Fraser Valley formerly known as Fraser Valley College is amongst the top public universities in Canada. The university has campuses located in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission and Hope, British Columbia.
University of Fraser Valley was established in 1974 and the motto of this university states “Iyaqáwtxw” which means “house of transformation” in English.
This university features over 15,000 students including 8500 undergraduates, 6100 postgraduates, 1330 international students and up to 800 academic staffs. University of the Fraser Valley offers multiple scholarships including the International Undergraduate Student Entrance Scholarship, International High School Diploma Entrance Scholarship, International Student Academic Excellence Award, International Students Endowment Scholarship and Mizue Tominaga Endowment Leadership Award for International Students.
International Undergraduate Student Entrance Scholarship
University of the Fraser Valley offers fifteen CAD$1,000 to top 10 international students with superior achievement and at least a minimum GPA of 3.33 (B+) from their post-secondary school education.
International High School Diploma Entrance Scholarship
UFV also offers scholarships to the top four graduating students from an international high school entering UFV. However, eligible students must have a superior achievement with a minimum overall GPA of 3.33 (B+) on all grade 12 courses. The value of the scholarship is estimated to CAD $1000.
International Student Academic Excellence Award
This scholarship is awarded to the two top UFV applicants from international high school with a minimum overall GPA of 3.67. However, these students are expected to continue UFV studies and awarded CAD $1000 each.
Lastly, the International Students Endowment Scholarship is offered to international students who achieve minimum GPA of 3.0 while the Mizue Tominaga Endowment Leadership Award for International Students is awarded to students demonstrating leadership and also volunteerism in the community at UFV. However, the value for both scholarships varies yearly depending on the endowment amount of the institution.
